This Privacy Policy explains what information Electrician Scout collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this simple, because we collect very little. Electrician Scout surfaces commercial electrical opportunities from public records; we are not in the business of profiling you.

2. Information we collect

We collect the account and contact information you choose to give us, which is typically your name, your email address, the counties you cover, and the fact that you do electrical work. We collect this when you email us, ask about coverage, or sign up for the Service.

We also collect basic, privacy-friendly usage information through Vercel Web Analytics so we can see which pages are visited and how the site performs. This is aggregate and does not rely on individual cookie tracking or build a profile of you as a person.

4. Public records data

The opportunity data inside the Service is compiled from publicly available government records, such as building permits, commercial property transfers, and posted public bids. That data is about public construction and ownership activity. It is not personal data about you, our subscriber, and we do not treat it as part of your account profile.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand site traffic and performance. These tools are designed to be privacy-friendly and do not track you individually across the web. We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site. Your browser stores a small theme preference locally so the site remembers light or dark mode, which stays on your device.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the limited service providers we need to run the Service, such as a payment processor to handle billing and an email provider to communicate with you. Those providers are permitted to use your information only to perform their service for us. We may also disclose information if required by law.

7. Data retention

We keep your account and contact information for as long as you have an active relationship with us and as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymize it.

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Just email support@electricianscout.com and we will take care of it. You can also cancel your subscription at any time.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, and we work with established providers for hosting, payments, and email. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we treat your information with care.

10. Children

Electrician Scout is a business tool for contractors. It is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the Service evolves and as we finalize it with counsel. When we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
